New Server for Improved Web Site Hosting

Distortal has expanded rapidly over the past few months and as such we have outgrown our old RaQ550 webserver. We have gracefully parted company with our old colo firm and are now hosted in the Redbus Interhouse data centre in the Canary Wharf area of London.

The new webserver brings huge improvements in speed and reliability over previous the machine, with a fully-supported Linux operating system and machine specifications that have more than doubled. This alone will see us through the next year or so, and we have plans to acquire additional servers as and when the need arises.

The old server has not been completely abandoned however - it will be reformatted with the new operating system and connected into the office network and used as a development machine to ensure that new websites are 100% ready to go before being made live.
